This is a scan of the comicbook that I created with Darren Aronofsky for his first movie, Pi. Originally this project was started when Darren was making the movie. He wasn't sure which would be his success, graphic novel writer of film director. Obviously it eventually was film director. I too had my doubts at first, but when i received a call the day that Darren had sold the film at Sundance to Artisan pictures and he told me that the comicbook was also a go as a promotional tool for the film, I was convinced that Darren really was a golden boy . As for me I had 30 days to sketch create and assemble the 32 page book and it damn near killed me. I worked from 8am to 1am for 30 days so that I could meet the deadline (and make a nice chunk of change.) But on the 31st day I fell over, much like max in the movie and collapsed onto my bed for 4 days.
Technical info: The Book was drawn in scratchboard then scanned into photoshop and assembled in Quark.
